SouthYorkshireHerps.co.uk is based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. All animals featured on this site are for sale in the UK only.

Reserves and Deposits

A ‘reserve’ can be placed on any animal that is ready for sale and ensures you the right to buy. By placing a deposit against an animal, that animal acquires a ‘reserved’ status until receipt of full payment, where upon its status will be updated to ‘sold’. A ‘reserve’ is a non-refundable deposit, which is credited towards the total cost of the animal e.g.-

If a £10 reserve is placed on an animal priced at £30, only a further payment of £20 is required to complete the transaction.

Once your ‘reserve’ is placed, arrangements should be made to collect the animal(s) within two weeks and details of the ‘full payment’ discussed. Buyers wishing to ‘reserve’ animals for a greater period of time may pay an addition ‘maintenance charge’.

If you are unable to complete the transaction by the agreed time/date, your reserve will be void and we will re-advertise the animal.

‘Reserves’ are calculated against the total cost of the animal, which means high priced animals will always have a greater ‘reserve value’ than that of low priced animals.

If a ‘reserved’ animal becomes sick, injured or deceased during our care, you will be informed immediately and your ‘reserve’ refunded in full.

A ‘full payment’ is required to purchase an animal. If you are ‘paying on collection’ we will only accept cash. If you are paying prior to collection we will accept the full range of ‘payment options’ (see below). An animal will only be released from our care on receipt of ‘full payment’ e.g.-

If you are paying by cheque, we will only release the animal from our care when the cheque has cleared.

You can make a ‘full payment’, ‘reserve’ or ‘deposit’ with the following options:

Please make all payments out to the keeper of the desired animal(s), which is individually stated in the animals profile, under the Code section.

The characters appearing before the numerical code refers to the Keeper that owns the animal e.g.- D/000 animals are owned by Daniel Hird and S/000 animals are owned be Scott Allot.

You can collect your animal(s) from us, or we can arrange for them to be delivered to your door, though collection is preferred.

If you require delivery, full-payment for the animal(s) will be required prior to delivery, we will also require some of your details for this arrangement.

We are now working with The Reptile Taxi.ltd to deliver our animals to your door, please enquire for details.

Prices featured on SouthYorkshireHerps.co.uk are non-negotiable and are calculated according to the animal’s current condition, age, sex, species, morph etc. These prices may be subject to change as the animal develops and ages. ‘Reserved’ animals remain at a fixed price from the date of reservation.

In the event your animal becomes sick or injured please contact us and we will do our best to help resolve the situation. We will always advise you to seek professional help from a qualified veterinarian in this event.

Please ensure you have all the necessary equipment and knowledge to keep your desired animal. If we suspect you do not we may refuse sale of the animal, until we are convinced otherwise.

If you are adding a specimen to your already established collection, please always quarantine your animal to ensure it is fit and healthy. If you do not you may find instead of one sick or dead animal, your entire collection is as well.

We keep written and photographic records of all animals in our care, so if you need further information, for example, about the history of an animal we may be-able to supply it.

Newly hatched/born animals will always remain in our care until we deem the fit and healthy enough for sale.

SouthYorkshireHerps.co.uk does not knowingly sell sick, injured or deceased animals. Animals that become sick during its care will remain in its care until deemed fit enough for resale.

SouthYorkshireHerps.co.uk is not responsible for any animal(s) leaving its care.

SouthYorkshireHerps.co.uk reserves the right to refuse a refund due to the inappropriate handling, husbandry or failure to quarantine animals purchased, which resulted in the injury, sickness or death of the animal(s).

SouthYorkshireHerps.co.uk reserves the right to refuse sale of animals in its care, for whatever reason.

SouthYorkshireHerps.co.uk reserves the right to cancel a transaction at any stage, for whatever reason, where upon any money, goods or livestock transferred between parties will be refunded/returned in full.

All SouthYorkshireHerps.co.uk members agree to uphold and abide by all the terms and conditions outlined above.
